Foundation Crack Repair
In the case of cracks in a poured concrete foundation, pipe penetrations or expansion joints, polyurethane caulk, urethane foam grout, and hydrophobic urethane injection are some of our preferred treatments. Dry Building Solutions is fully trained in all these techniques and materials and can make the right choice for your project. This method has been in use for years, and has proven itself to be more effective than exterior waterproofing for addressing cracks and water penetration. Caulk has excellent adhesion qualities and will actually protect your foundation from further cracking. We drill holes into the crack, every eight inches, and then insert 3/8 inch tubing. Next we use an injection gun at low pressure to inject the caulk deep into the crack for complete waterproofing. Using an injection gun at low pressure, we inject the caulk deep into the crack for complete waterproofing. Once the injected material has cured, the crack is sealed.
For more severe cracking, or bowing of a foundation wall, we use carbon fiber strapping or wall stabilization.
Shear foundation cracks are typically diagonal along the wall with the bottom being narrower than the top.
